I ordered a hitch installed and was planning on using a V-Rack bike rack along with a small rear hitch rack. The Uhaul manager was kind enough to shave off a quarter inch of this insert (free of charge) since the hole didn't line up properly with the hitch's hole. It's barely enough to get my little dart off the bumper. My first pre-purchase impression was that I could fit a weight holder in the 2" end, but it's not designed for that and has a thin screw inside to prevent extra use. The little nut on the outside is I believe to keep the V-Rack bike holder from slipping. Contrary to the photo and packaging, my adapter has no tip, it is hollow. I tried to call Heininger, but got an answering machine asking me to extend the party. I wrote to support and after a week still no answer. So I took a chance and successfully drove a few hundred freeway miles and over potholes with no problems, but I would still have to buy another truck adapter. Technically, this is an adapter, not an adapter.
