Well I picked this ram to overclock paired with a new Ryzen 3900X build that was before I knew how picky Ryzen 3 CPU memory controllers are. the best place for DDR4 is at 3600 MHz, after that the latency pretty much belies any further increase in speed. I was able to get to 4000MHz but it was so unstable regardless of voltage and timings that I had to dial it back. But if Ryzen 3rd Gen can really boost your memory speeds at boot, you should save your BIOS settings regularly as you'll need to reboot frequently. I've never had such a tedious problem adjusting memory timings and voltages, but this isn't Patriot Viper memory, it's Ryzen, but once you get it working, it's worth it and fast! The RGB effect on this memory is amazing, I get compliments from everyone who sees my setup, I also love the atmosphere it creates in my office, it can be adjusted to suit any mood. Happy with this memory in general. UPDATE: I found the memory isn't as fussy as I first found out, this was due to using 4 sticks. With two sticks, I was able to use almost any timing and speed setting with no issues. I went up to 4400MHz but found that this hurt CPU performance by increasing latency, although I'm sure this could be increased for both. Yes, this RAM is fast and very happy with its performance and looks.
