Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ Finnex Deluxe Titanium Tube Heater with Guard: Efficient and Reliable Heating Solution by Tanya Hughes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Outstanding performance so far

This is an initial review of the 500w titanium heater and will be updated in 6-12 months. I bought this unit to replace two aqueon pro 250w heaters in a 125 gallon aquarium. The Finnex heater uses the same Inkbird 306t controller as previous heaters. The aquarium is filtered with eheim 2262 and fluval fx6 which provides good water circulation in a 72 inch aquarium. I placed a titanium heater just behind the center point of the aquarium on the other side of the inlet and outlet. After nearly a week of use, the Finnex titanium heater proved to be much more effective at keeping the water at 80ยฐF. The aqueon pro heaters increased the temperature much more slowly and seemed to have trouble maintaining the temperature. in winter when the basement is cool 65f. This presents an interesting challenge to the conventional wisdom that two heaters heat more evenly than one larger heater. This may be the case in a larger water tank with less circulation, but it may just be a design difference between a titanium heater with metal tubes and heaters with a plastic body. I'm also impressed with the form factor of the Finnex titanium heater. It's basically the same size as 250w professional heaters and much smaller than a 300w glass eheim hunter. The plastic guard is a nice touch to keep my umbee from playing with a hot whistle. I will now be monitoring finnex Titanium's performance over time and hope to get a good report in the future.
