We bought this product for our newly laid carpet . After When the carpet installation was complete, one of the installers brought this vacuum cleaner inside to clean the carpet before leaving. I asked about the vacuum cleaner and he let me "try it out" on the new carpet. It was easier to push and had a 50ft cord that worked great. I plugged it into an outlet in the hallway and was able to reach any room from there. (Keep it simple) Our old vacuum cleaner has attachments. No need to buy bags, just take out the big bag and shake it.
