They are well designed and hold the cables securely. fits securely (or at all) into the RCA jack. I'm hesitant to blame the product - it's a departure from the industry standard of recessing female end connections. I came across a subwoofer that I wanted to use these jacks on. This is the only device I've ever owned that I've seen built like this, so it didn't bother me to check it out. So just know and check what these adapters connect to. They become broad at a very short length. Second, there are no R and L markings. No indicator, but you have to rely on your cables to tell right from left, not these adapters.
