These came in earlier than expected which was nice. Once I unwrapped the plastic the smell hit me. From ten feet away the musty smell was pungent and almost eye-wateringly bad. So I washed them by hand to remove the terrible odor and the excess green dye. I had to hand wash them in gentle soap TWELVE times before most of the excess dye was removed and the smell became tolerable. However, by this time all the unfinished edges began to fray. The odor from the packaging alone was enough to give it one star. It really was that awful. Buy a pair of puttees from someone else.
