Very surprised by the performance. Used on a 2018 13" MacBook Pro i7. This unit had some issues with shutting down due to overheating (a bit disappointed in Apple: too much design over functionality lately), so I chose this device based on positive reviews. Here are the results: Test 1: Laptop idling: Pre-cooling pad CPU temp: 50 degrees CPU temp after cooling pad: 42 degrees Test 2: Compressing a 2-minute video to MP4 with handbrake at default MP4 setting: Pre-cooling pad: The internal fans turn on after about 10 seconds and run at about 3000 rpm. Rendering the video would take 31 seconds. After Cooling Pad: The internal fans kicked on after about 20 seconds and ran at about 2700 rpm. The video took 28 seconds to render. Test 3: General web browsing: Pre-cooling pad: CPUs prevailed at around 55 degrees. Post-Cooling Pad: Processors sat down at around 45 degrees. Some very informal and basic testing to show how this will help on an 18 13" MPB. Hope this helps.
