I almost missed the learning curve for this tool. I bought this to grout the top caps of a 138ft retaining wall with mortar premixed with dye. First question: how is it filled? I've found that a piece of angle iron works really well with a bit of a mess. The first 6 times I tried I started squeezing it out and the tip acted like it was clogged and stopped flowing, then I cleaned it all up with water and tried again. Here's what I found: The butt came "loose" and needs to be adjusted to fit snugly against the barrel by tightening the adjusting nut. If it isn't, pulling the trigger will cause the water to flow around the piston, creating a mixture that should dry and flow almost immediately. Once I got over the "learning curve" I don't know what I would have done without it! That was cool! and worked fine in the rest of the project. Hope that helps.
