As a fisherman's net, it does exactly what it's supposed to do when catching a net. It's not very pretty, but it's pretty practical. The wire tips are coated and I haven't had any rusting problems. In case you're wondering, which you probably haven't already, this is an aquarium net - it's not designed to catch salmon or anything like that. I like that the mesh is soft. I only have one betta and am very wary of anything that might damage its delicate, flowing fins. I'm happy to report that while he doesn't seem to enjoy being caught in a net and placed in a glass of water while I clean his tank (he's a pretty naughty fish), he never has was injured by the net. Please note that the purchase is for one grid only, be sure to check the size in relation to your tank/bowl. I wouldn't actually recommend it for a bowl - as the outer part of the net is very stiff it doesn't roll sideways when your bowl and fish just swim away laughing. Well, my fish would be, but as I mentioned before, he's pretty grumpy for a fish.
