Review on πŸ”‡ Stop Excessive Barking with the Sportdog Nobark SBC-R Rechargeable Bark Control Collar by Valarie Bennett

NOT for small dogs, very strong impact even on the lowest settings

My dog is 3 years old, Beagle mix, small. She is very nervous, which is probably one of the reasons why she barks at other dogs in the park. I read the description of the collar and many comments and thought if it is as harmless as it says why not try it. I've always been against stun collars, but I thought things would be different now. When I first tried it, I set it to the lowest setting as instructed. We went to the park as soon as she barked at another dog, she was shocked, she was so scared that she jumped up and cried and it seemed like the collar had moved on. To shock her she paced back and forth crying, her tail hanging under her feet, she even went outside (this is not a gated park) and disobeyed my stop order as the cars didn't pull up. I couldn't hold her. Finally she stops talking and comes towards me, I take off the collar, put on the leash and try to walk. But she didn't move, she was breathing very excitedly, she was very scared. It took me a while to get her to come with me. Eventually she did, but kept stopping. She was out of her mind. I'm sure she didn't realize she was shocked by the barking, but she thought something was hurting her in the park and she didn't move. I had to go home and she was herself again. . she felt safe at home. It's been more than two weeks since this happened and she's still afraid to go to that park. Dog. Maybe not physically, but it definitely hurt her mentally. I still hope that she will forget this experience and will gladly go to this park again. I do not recommend using this product at all.
