Good. I'll say what another experienced photographer said. That's a very, very good deal for very good gear if you know what you're doing. I'm a professional rodeo photographer and have been focusing manually since the cinema days. I say that because you have to manually control the camera (aperture and shutter speed) when manually focusing this lens. Anyone who can manually control the triangle of ISO, aperture, shutter speed and focus will love this teleconverter. If you're good at problem solving and not frustrated with your gear, you'll love this teleconverter. If you only shot autofocus lenses; if you are easily disappointed; If you still have photo exposure problems, buy this converter, but wait until you mature as a photographer to use it. One day you will need it. Performance: I've used it on a D810 with an f2.8 300mm lens and have had very good results shooting wildlife (gives me 600mm). I used it on the D2X with a 70-200mm lens to shoot sports with good results. I've used it at 170-500mm for long range wildlife photography (up to 1000mm) and have had very good results with the sturdy, heavy Manfrotto tripod. You need a good tripod to focus accurately at long distances. Bottom line: It's a very good teleconverter, but you're better off using it with good hardware and really knowing what you're doing. fun, right?). Good luck, have fun, work on problems, take great photos.
