Works best in the kitchen and dining room

The blades are very sharp which helps a lot when I'm cutting soft skinned foods like tomatoes. It cuts well, but when you're working with starchy and thick vegetables like potatoes, it can get stuck on the blade if you don't cut it at the right speed. The guard is only useful if it can grab the fruit/vegetable you are trying to cut. For example, Guard works with tomatoes and oranges, but is difficult to use with irregularly shaped items like sweet potatoes or ginger. I also noticed that if you cut too fast or use too much force, the blade can come loose. I'm just a little 115lb Asian girl so I'm not transforming into a Super Saiyan on the device. This is a bit of a concern as blocking only works about 60% of the time. I've made potato chips and fries with a slicer and the chips cut more successfully than the fries. I may have tried slicing them too thin, but the julienne sometimes doesn't go all the way through the potatoes. But it works great with carrots. I like the drawer that keeps all the cut veggies/fruit. This is very useful and keeps the counters clean. I didn't use grills (simply because I don't eat cheese that often), so I can't comment on that. All in all, here's the rundown: Understand the setup Easy to clean (assuming you don't let it dry on the blades) Useful for even slices/julienne Flexibility in slice/julienne thickness Translucent CONS body Locking mechanism fails 100% time Only guard works with veg/fruit, may stick, some veg may get stuck on the blades
