Cannot thin julienne with this. Options are thick and thick. The waffle iron is a joke. You can't ramble on, even on the finest settings mine go to. If you just want to slice or thick julienne, this seems like the way to go. I didn't buy it for that though. Very disappointed.

Easy to match and remember, it's VERY spicy! Cuts amazingly even slices, the julienne blade is great. Remember, buy a set of these cut-free gloves and protect your fingers and hands. My only complaint is that the blades tend to slip off the pod, but you can fix this by holding the end of the pod with your other hand to keep it from slipping.

I would give 5 stars but found it difficult to cut root vegetables like beets and carrots. I tried the julienne version with carrots and it was a bit difficult. Thank you for protecting your hands! It came in handy when trying to use it with those hard-to-cut veggies and anything else I cut, dice, and julienne.

Great cheap mandolin. We bought this primarily for slicing up sweet potatoes as we are addicted to baked sweet potato chips. Durable, the blades are nice and sharp. The safety grip is also very helpful (I have a sister-in-law who cut off your palm on the mandolin, so I really appreciate the safety grips!). I also like that it comes with both straight blades and a serrated blade. Ripple chips make me feel trendy.

I've wanted to increase the amount of vegetables in my diet, but as you know, it takes a lot of preparation. This mandolin slicer changes all that. It is very easy to use and does an excellent job in no time. I still play with mine because it has so many cutting options and there are so many veggies to try. Oops. They really shouldn't be sold without one of these cut resistant gloves. On the second use I literally cut off the tip of my right middle finger and scraped off a few millimeters of the nail and pad requiring me to go to the emergency room to stop the bleeding. The blades are very sharp which helps a lot when I'm cutting soft skinned foods like tomatoes. It cuts well, but when you're working with starchy and thick vegetables like potatoes, it can get stuck on the blade if you don't cut it at the right speed. The guard is only useful if it can grab the fruit/vegetable you are trying to cut. For example, Guard works with tomatoes and oranges, but is difficult to use with irregularly shaped items like sweet potatoes or ginger. I also noticed that if you…
