My first attempt was unsuccessful. I thought I figured out the mechanics behind it and then went for it. Big mistake like many people in the reviews. However, if you stop, look at the dimensions, and carefully place the mechanism at the exact distance from the door's pivot point, it works great. Dimensions are in metric "mm". I used a digital caliper to get them exactly as instructed. Once I got it perfect following the measurements it works. My door is a little lighter than it needs to be to be perfect. I'm under 6 pounds which is the nominal minimum but it still works. They sent me instructions in English a few hours after the package arrived, but as many reviews say, they didn't help much more than what was provided. Simply position the mechanism exactly as indicated in terms of clearances. You will see people get hit with this, it happened to me on the first try and I realized the importance of measurements. The mechanism must apply pressure from the door to the brake throughout the closing process. It's very smooth and consistent. I will buy them for future projects. Hope this review helps. I wish they would give me a discount if I take the time to explain this to future customers. Remember that distances/measurements are key to make it work.
