Review on Enhanced Pet Gear Travel Lite ๐Ÿพ Ramp with SuperTrax Surface for Optimal Traction by Michelle Larson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent with some caveats

I love this ramp except that it cannot be mounted on a car. That's why I wrote "excellent with some caveats" in the title, meaning the ramp is useful, but safety should come first when the dog is on the ramp. Safety is also an issue with other ramps as some breeds tend to distrust the ramp and will attempt to jump or even fall out of nervousness. I bought a used ramp from Revain stock. It was advertised as "used - like new". In my opinion this means "excellent" condition. I think it would be more correct to describe it as "used - very good" because it really showed signs of wear. Other than that, the ramp is just what I needed. My 70 pound Sheltie is a therapy dog and she doesn't like jumping in the car like she used to. It's too heavy for me to lift in my car during our weekly trips to hospitals, schools and nursing homes. After reading that some people use treats to get a dog to run up the ramp, I tried a different approach and used treats after he was up the ramp and after he was down the ramp. I opened the driver's door and leaned the curved portion of the ramp against the edge of the door to make sure it was secure. Then I grabbed my dog by the collar, gently guided her to the front seat and repeated the process back down. We did this twice and then I rewarded her with her favorite treat. I repeated the workout the same way for the next two days. On the third day she was running up and down the ramp without my help or guidance. She was glad because she knew she would be given her favorite treat after completing her task. My only concern is that the ramp might fall over the edge of the opening leading to the car. There's really no way to secure it or snap it into place. Because of this, I would never let her run up and down the ramp without my guidance to make sure the ramp stays in place and she doesn't accidentally move it. weighs only 7 pounds. I am almost 70 years old and of short stature. I have used the heavier ramps that my friends own and find the larger ramps to be easy to carry, lift or fold. This ramp folds up easily and is really good. I'm so glad I bought this ramp at a great price and that my dog took to using it easily. I would like to add that I drive a Ford Focus and this short ramp is perfect in slope and length. I've thought about a longer ramp, but that's not necessary. This length works well.
