Color issues may occur depending on your situation.

The monitor looks great, is easy to assemble and is a fantastic price. Of course, such an award can have consequences, and that was the case for me. I hooked this thing up to my laptop via HDMI and turned it on and the display looked awful. Colors, especially black and white, were washed out, and for someone like me who's a bit picky about visual quality, that was driving me crazy. I've done a little research and I can surmise the following: The monitor isn't sending the correct information that it's a monitor (and not a TV) to my computer. This means my computer defaults to limited RGB mode instead of full RGB mode. In other words, the video stream fades out whiter whites and blacker blacks. Instead of a nice, pristine white, you get an awful looking beige, and darker grays and blacks don't scale properly. Because of this, all other colors also appear washed out, resulting in a frustratingly poor viewing experience. Depending on your graphics card, you may be able to change this. For me, my video connections are routed through my onboard Intel GPU instead of my dedicated NVIDIA GPU, and for some stupid reason the Intel graphics panel won't let you change the RGB mode. After hours of research and various troubleshooting methods including editing the registry, I couldn't fix it. No more hassle and I don't want to put up with how awful the display looks so I'm sending the monitor back. Instead, I grabbed a similar 27-inch Samsung Curved device and it connected right out of the box and worked great. So this is food for thought. I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because I think this monitor will probably be fine for most people. ok But be careful if you have an integrated GPU you may face the same problem as me.

Pros
  • Built-in speakers
Cons
  • Static Noise: If the monitor signal is not strong enough, static noise may appear on the display.
