So far, so good. I bought this to fix communication issues with 10G fiber optic connections. I suspect there are many dirty fiber ports causing errors and link instability. When it arrived I immediately plugged in an MM fiber that I've had at home for years. I saw quite a bit of dirt and grime on the ports. For the first time I saw dirty plugs with my own eyes. Now I definitely believe in fiber cleaning. At work I connected the SM fiber and also saw dirt on the connectors. You can definitely see the core if you use something called a "light window" to pass light through the cable. It's very easy to see the core with MM fibers. Out of curiosity, I tried to "clean" the MM fiber connectors by rubbing them on my shirt. This resulted in the plug becoming a lot dirtier and streaky. Then I tried cleaning it with a lint free cloth. This did the job better but still left some residue. This is another reason to clean the fiber from now on. At first I didn't think I had a 1.5mm adapter for use with LC connectors, but I found it in a bag in a suitcase. It's easy to get dirty because the bag closes with Velcro. My only complaint is that the light used to illuminate the connector surface is quite bright. I don't want to stare at the fiber with one of these all day. I will buy a smartphone holder on the telescope so I can mount my iPhone on it and easily view it with the iPhone camera. You can do this without a mount, but it's a little tricky to line up the camera with the viewing lens. The seller I bought it from was in Hong Kong. I didn't notice it until I ordered it, but I haven't had any problems. The package arrived a few days later as I paid for expedited shipping ($19). I was a little surprised when a DHL driver texted me to ask permission to leave the package, but DHL confirmed that this is normal for their drivers. All in all I don't regret this purchase.
