Installs to connect Simrad Autopilot to a NMEA network with a B&G chartplotter. I couldn't get the network to recognize the autopilot and ended up calling Simrad tech support. They were very helpful and quickly identified the problem in SIMNET Joiner. It was an intermittent connection and a bit of dielectric grease helped fix that (for now). The carpenter doesn't give the impression that it's very well designed or made as it's nothing more than a set of male to male pins for connecting two female ends of SIMNET cables. It should be a simple and very reliable device that can be plugged in and forgotten on the network. Hopefully it won't start intermittently again when on autopilot.
