Borner V5 is a good mandolin but lacks in design. The blade holder is bulky and difficult to store. Takes up too much room for a drawer and is NOT designed to stand alone on a counter. The locking mechanism makes it difficult to adjust the blades. There are few instructions and the "video" didn't play on my DVD player so I looked it up online and there were no instructions on how to use the blades. You must be familiar and familiar with mandolins if you want to buy them. I've owned a Borner V food slicer for almost twenty years so I know they're built to last, but this one looks like the locking mechanism is about to break. I would give it 3 stars because it really is like a dream but what a hassle.
