I put this little change under my sewing machine to iron while I work on it. He's *almost* perfect for that. I use a plastic folding table and the plastic underneath this mat gets a little warm when ironed. But most often this happens when you need to iron more than usual. When I do this I just put a small cloth underneath to help. I've only used folded ironing sheets (much thicker and lumpier) and it was MUCH hotter underneath than this rug. I've seen some people complain that it stays a little wrinkled and that's true, but I don't really care what I'm doing. I also like hanging accessories on the front for pins, thread cutters and the like. Bits of lint/thread won't stick, so a quick zoom with a lint roller will remove them in no time.
