TL/DR for newbies like me, let me just tell you, don't panic if you screw the regulator onto a full CO2 tank and it doesn't work. Connect the solenoid valve first, THEN try the needle valve. (Thanks to customer service) :) Also bring spare paintball o-rings AND silicone gel lube for the o-ring. If this thing breaks, your tank will leak until you unscrew the regulator. I also speak from my own experience. Now for my beginner paintball experience with CO2: This was the first time I had REAL CO2 for my tank. I used to use a Fluval setup that uses disposable 16g cartridges. So despite what I read online and my friends helped me, it was still just reading. No practical experience. I came across this regulator and wanted it because it didn't need adapters and I could just get a paintball tank. When I came home with my freshly filled 20oz Tippmann paintball can and unscrewed the regulator, it chewed through the O-. The ring that came with the tank and drained half of the CO2. It was a "funny" evacuation of the room for 10 minutes. So I bought some o-rings at my local army/paintball store and the regulator chewed those up too. THEN I ordered some red polyurethane paintball o-rings from here. And I realized that they need silicone grease. Oops! nothing has happened. Excellent. I broke. So I contacted support and, to make a long story short, you need to hook up the solenoid to the wall before it will work. Finally, after over a week of this mess (all due to my ignorance), I got this thing up and running within the same hour (it was more like a few minutes after I messaged them) via customer service. This regulator has also saved me a ton of money as I no longer have to buy 16g threaded CO2 cartridges that only last a couple of days each. I hooked up a solenoid (which was mute) to a timer and it worked great. The needle valve is also very precise. So overall it was great to have for my aquariums. Don't be afraid to give this a try, the customer support team will be happy to help you with any problems or silly things you might encounter.
