I installed a heater in my 36 gallon aquarium and it increased the water temperature from 71 to 79 degrees Fahrenheit in about 3 hours. it holds steady at my set temperature of 79 degrees Fahrenheit. The heater turns back on when the temperature drops 1 degree, then sets it back to the set value. I installed the heating element horizontally on one side of the tank (on the back glass using the included suction cups) and the controller temp sensor on the opposite side. side of the tank (side glass with the supplied suction cups) according to the instructions. Cable and power cord were long enough and installation was very easy. The controller was easy to set up and use. The manual translation of the language wasn't very good, but you can understand what was being said.
