Review on CURT 56331 Custom 4-Pin Trailer Wiring Harness, Vehicle-Side, Compatible with Chrysler Town and Country, Dodge Grand Caravan, in Black by Ronald Taylor

I love how convenient it is to plug into an existing wiring harness with the connectors attached to the system to involve It works great for what I needed it for. According to the installation instructions, however, the control unit must be placed behind the rear light on the driver's side and screwed on with a self-tapping screw. I didn't like the idea of placing it outside of a car that would be exposed to rain, heat, etc. I asked the company if I could cut and rejoin the two harnesses with solder and heat shrink so I could thread them through the grommets. Light wires run through and connect them back to the controls in the car. I was told that any modification to the wiring harness will void the warranty. To be clear I need to attach a few other wires to the box with the pliers provided which I may or may not have but if I solder and want to solder and shrink tubing to 3 smaller diameter wires I will void the warranty. Khrm. If that fails I will never go back, that's for sure.
