Installation isn't too complicated, but could be a bit easier.

I made this with my 14 year old son and it wasn't too difficult. The biggest problem is running cables from the back of the car to the front to connect the battery. If you don't have help untangling the wires, you'll spend a lot of time zipping back and forth. I don't have an elevator so I lay on my back on the garage floor. Installs in about 20 minutes. I miss the old Lightmate that just plugged into the rear harness.

Easy to install! Works perfectly!

Do not short/ground outputs. This is my second car on my wife's van. We only use their hitch to tow jet skis. I forgot to tie the fork to the trailer and it backed into the parking space somewhere, hit the hitch on the parking space bumper and crumpled up the cables. After that I tried replacing the pigtail connector and although it was "correct" and had no shorts, the fuse kept blowing. That's when I realized that something in the converter box had also shorted out. But we used it all summer…

This item was DEAD when received

This was very easy to install but that was where it ended and the problems began. I connected the wiring as shown in the picture. then connected to the trailer. The light didn't work. While searching for problems, I noticed that the Flat Four is broken, only two ports are active, and replaced it with a working one. The device still didn't work, traced the wiring. I found that the spade connector was not receiving power. At this point I tried to wire the module and then it worked. I would never…

2014 Town/Country

I was able to fit the unit into the jack stand and run a wire to the right tail light under the bumper, just enough wire. Run the cable to the battery in the car and exit through the hood, lock the cable to the battery and hide the fuse in the battery compartment. When I'm ready to tow, open the jack compartment and thread the wire harness through the hole on the jack cover, boom! Installation time 3 hours, 2 men. My guess is that by installing it per the instructions you're just leaving the…

Great value for money: External accessories

Great overall wiring. Setup was easy and quick with video searches. You have to drill a converter box screw into the wall of the car behind the taillight, but that didn't cause any problems or visible cosmetic issues (since it's not visible after the taillight is reinstalled). There are several kits. out there that look like they're using speaker wire, even though it's a thicker gauge. My problem was routing the wire from the bottom of the car to the battery. My suggestion would be to start the

The only way there.

I can't knock over dodge stars, I need an isolated circuit. They connect to existing headlights, but this is the easiest part. You need to make a "hole" in the car yourself to ground it and route the power cable to the battery. The downside to this is that there is so much moving crap and hot stuff on the way to the battery. They give you some zip ties to hold the wire on the way up that aren't close enough to ensure it stays in a safe place. The power cable has some flaws in terms of…

So far disappointed.

Disappointed so far. Bought for a 2016 Dodge Caravan. First, the package arrived empty. It did not include any installation parts - screws, cable ties, connectors, double-sided tape, fuse, dust cover for 4 spade connectors. Second, the length of the cable forces you to install the control module in the driver's side tail light. As a result, the cable is not long enough for the 4-pin connector to reach the tow hitch. It's about a foot walk and half that short. Third, the connector that comes…

Good product, disappointed with the details of the guarantee!

I love how convenient it is to plug into an existing wiring harness with the connectors attached to the system to involve It works great for what I needed it for. According to the installation instructions, however, the control unit must be placed behind the rear light on the driver's side and screwed on with a self-tapping screw. I didn't like the idea of placing it outside of a car that would be exposed to rain, heat, etc. I asked the company if I could cut and rejoin the two harnesses with…
