Do not short/ground outputs. This is my second car on my wife's van. We only use their hitch to tow jet skis. I forgot to tie the fork to the trailer and it backed into the parking space somewhere, hit the hitch on the parking space bumper and crumpled up the cables. After that I tried replacing the pigtail connector and although it was "correct" and had no shorts, the fuse kept blowing. That's when I realized that something in the converter box had also shorted out. But we used it all summer and when I had my caravan the light always worked great!
