These shorts have only been ridden once with padded straps under the shoulders. I can say that I like them more than any other type I've tried. I bought 2 pairs of "outer" lined shorts which are not that soft and comfortable. Wearing these shorts also meant I had to make room in my water bag for another pair of shorts when I got to work. These Baleaf shorts solve both problems. They have more padding and are also generally more comfortable to wear as I wear my boxers then baleaf and then my regular shorts. bring another extra pair of shorts. If I can't find padded shorts that work better, I plan to buy a few more and then probably won't wear the others, if at all. As for the sizes with these. I think they are a bit small. I usually wear a 32-34 inch waist depending on the cut of the pants/shorts/jeans/whatever. I bought them in a large size and they are quite tight. Not that uncomfortable but if I gain a few pounds I'll have to switch to XL. They appear to be carved like a little big one, if that makes sense. As long as they endure many trips I think it will be a good price and I will order more.
