These paddles are difficult to rate as some of them deserve 4-5 stars and others only 1-2 stars. Processing and assembly are very good. They stick together and the pillars are strong. We even took it apart and made it into a kayak paddle (albeit a short one - it would be cool if they added an extra connector section to make a standard length kayak paddle). However, the yellow part of the paddle is fragile and will bend even if used by a child. Even with a fairly light tap, the tips of the blades would fold back and flop into the water, making rowing much less efficient. They just weren't strong enough to withstand real use. They are great for playing in the pool.
