My feet and ankles are prone to swelling so this is a great solution. Thing is, my feet and ankles swell up (1) after a long day of work and when I'm on my feet, (2) when I'm traveling, and (3) in the heat and humidity of an Arkansas summer. The advantage of Sockwell socks is that they are breathable, so I can wear them even in the summer months without overheating. These socks do NOT make my feet sweat which is an added bonus during the wet months. They are also comfortable when travelling, especially when traveling by plane, where I always have problems with swelling. Another thing - these fit so great. I'm tall, about 5ft 11" and have a problem with most pant socks and hosiery staying on me due to my long legs; They stretch well and go right down to the base of my knee which is exactly what I want and they NEVER fall off but they don't pinch or bind at the top either. I recently had a scheduled doctor's visit and my doctor mentioned how much she liked my socks. When I told her they were compression stockings she almost didn't believe me because normally compression stockings are pretty unattractive but Socwell chooses designs in a variety of colors and styles that are really pretty and look more like pant socks. I prefer floral socks. Some of them look sportier or more modern. But she loved them and was able to get herself a pair!
