Review on DALSTRONG Butchers Breaking Cimitar Knife Kitchen & Dining by Matthew Gonzales

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Quality control of my 2 samples is good, reverse side/design too unreliable for intended purpose

Update: Contacted Dalstrong and fulfilled their customer satisfaction guarantee. Most people will be satisfied with the product. ----Original Let me start by saying that my experience with Dalstrong was good or bad. Some products have good workmanship, fit and finish while others have been worse in my opinion. SlicerShogun 12.5" CimitarShogun 10" Cimitar 2xShogun 10" ButcherShogun S Yanagiba The Good: First off, let me say I had no trouble fitting and finishing these knives. The fit and sanding of the Pakka wood handles were good Blades were smooth Knife was sharp straight away Scabbard fitted fairly well although I prefer the shogun scabbard with the plastic part that holds it and doesn't follow the contour of the blade Then the intended purpose of the Cimitar is to slash large chunks of it cut meat with reasonable accuracy. The problem with this knife is that the rear end is weak, ie the knife bends too much.I have 10" and 12.5" shoguns. They have a lot of power back and can make a big one Push the roast through the tip without bending too much, which is especially helpful when making large cuts where you curve the entire cut Unfortunately, this one will perform the role of 'slicer' I also have 14" Gladiator and Shogun slicers and would prefer them for slicing. I'm trying to decide whether to gift them to friends, send them back (I have 2) or give them to slicer duties. Three stars because I couldn't solve the Cimitar task well enough.
