We used the collar on our 3 year old black lab to curb her overzealousness towards strangers and reduce her tendency to jump up and run away when she slips out the door. We've had good results with all three modes: sound, vibration, and shock. We only powered them once. A sound and then a vibration is enough to remind them of their manners. The battery life of the collar is about 1.5 days and the battery life of the controller is 4 days or more. Before buying, I watched the owners' video reviews and I agree with their positive reviews. The wide range of settings allowed me to tailor the effect on our dog. The low lift setting works very well on our dog. The controller is easy to read and use and allows you to choose different settings in three alarm modes. The price is high as I bought a branded collar for a lot more with less flexibility and range. An excellent investment for an owner who has a dog that has a good temper and knows commands, but has difficulty listening to commands consistently.
