This solid wood dollhouse is unlike any plastic item. Simple assembly instructions. We recommend that you read all the instructions first before proceeding. This dollhouse was very easy to put together and the total assembly time was a couple of hours. We put it together a few weeks before Christmas so there wasn't too much pressure from haste and errors. It was my pleasure to do this. I also love the fact that my granddaughters now have a blank chalkboard as they love to decorate! You can paint interiors, glue paper wallpaper and sticky felt carpets. The wooden furniture that this doll house comes with is adorable, durable and not easy to break. It can also be colored. The genius is that the stairs move. Appearance is charming; two balconies upstairs, swinging doors and open windows, steps to porch. So charming. Worth the money to see my granddaughters faces light up at the sight of this on Christmas morning. We also have a family of M&D wooden toys with bendable bodies. Ideal.
