I've only used 2 cordless angle grinders: Kobalt 24v and Dewalt 20v Power Detect. Therefore, I compare the two models as an overview. I cut out a 1" thick anchor with both. With a Kobalt 24v angle grinder this took about 38 seconds. With a Dewalt 20v Power Detect (PD) it took about 32 seconds. So the Dewalt PD angle grinder is certainly more powerful/faster, but it's not lot. I made a few more cuts on the thick rebar. The Kobalt 24V angle grinder drained the battery by almost half (on a 4 amp battery). The battery on the Dewalt PD 8 Ah angle grinder still showed a full charge. This is however not a fair comparison as I used a 4ah battery with a Kobalt 24v angle grinder and an 8ah battery with a Dewalt PD, if you use a 4ah battery you will charge it heavily. Of course, most cordless angle grinders require a lot of power, so this problem is common to most cordless angle grinders, not just the Kobalt 24V model end up. Apart from the battery life, the Kobalt 24 V angle grinder is a good grinder. It just isn't top notch like the DeWalt 20v Power Detect. The only advantage of the Kobalt 24v angle grinder is the 5 year warranty compared to the 3 year warranty of the Dewalt 20v PD. The Dewalt PD angle grinder also feels a bit more compact and sleek. I find the Kobalt 24v's side handle to be too big and might snag on things. I also like the cobalt 24v noise. This is a high hurricane. It's a little quieter than the Dewalt 20v PD, which makes a big roar on startup. The motor of the Kobalt 24v angle grinder looks weak but is deceptively powerful. I recommend the Kobalt 24v angle grinder if you have already invested in the Kobalt range and don't need a top quality grinder. I like the Kobalt 24v angle grinder. It just isn't as good as the Dewalt 20v Power Detect angle grinder. That's a beast. Hope that helps.
