It's probably possible to rip CD/DVDs with a computer, but every computer I've had has made the process pretty obscure and it's really easy forgetting about it between copy sessions. . When I wanted to copy old family photos to the hard drive, nothing worked, so I bought Copystars. I don't use it very often, but when I do, it works great: original in one slot, blank in another, press a button and it all takes care of itself. I know that at the end and with great frustration, my computers probably die can do the same job, but it costs money and shelf space to have a machine that can get the job done without making me miserable.
