Review on 🎧 Sony MDR7506 Professional Diaphragm Headphones: Superior Sound Quality and Enhanced Comfort by Adam Walsh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I've listened to a few headphones, these are the closest thing to perfection. Not bass. Excellent mids and highs, tight lows.

I've tried a lot of headphones lately and these sound the best to me. I generally like the flat sound. I'm more concerned with clean mids and highs and I want them to be there but not overpower the lows and lows. Headphones I've tried include the following, with my totally subjective sound rating of 10. YMMV.Audio Technica ATH-M50X - Treble is a little muted in my opinion - 7Beats Studio 2 Wireless - Muted treble, some emphasis on mid-bass, but not overwhelming. 6Bose QC25 - a bit weak in the bass and weak in the highs, better ANC. 7Bose QC35 - can be a bit bass-heavy, especially at low volume. bright highs. Best ANC. 9JBL - EVEREST 700 - too bass-heavy. 5. JBL - Everest Elite 700 - Much better than the Elite, 7OPPO PM-3 - Excellent, expensive. 10 Sennheiser 202-fu. Too bass, no treble, but cheap. 4Sennheiser 280 - well balanced. 8Sennheiser Momentum M2 - close to perfection. 9.5Sennheiser PXC-550 - Wireless Noise Cancellation. It is excellent. 9Sony - MDRXB950BT/B - extra bass speaks for itself. 4Sony 7506 - Perfection 10 Of all the things I've tried, the Sony 7506 comes closest to perfection, a live performance. They're not bass-heavy at all, but they can reproduce comfortably tight bass down to fairly low frequencies. The tonal balance tends toward upper mids and highs. Light but not harsh. You end up hearing subtle sounds in the music that other headphones don't hear. Those who want more bass or don't want punchy highs won't like them. But for my taste it's perfect. They are also very comfortable. Many of the headphones listed above are not that comfortable. Either a tight strap or a thin strap, or the ear cushions aren't big enough or deep enough. These headphones are great. The biggest downside compared to many I've tried lately is that they are wired. With a long, thick cord, it's easy to get caught on things. I was looking for wireless headphones. But in the end I couldn't find one that sounded as good as this one at a reasonable price. The next closest was the Sennheiser PXC-550, but at $400 wireless wasn't worth the extra $320. I also found that there were times when I didn't want noise cancellation. Too bad Sony doesn't release wireless headphones with this sound. Best of all, these are by far the cheapest decent sounding headphones I've heard. The headphones on this list range from $20 to $450. We recommend the Sony 7506 if you like this sound signature.

Pros
  • Closed ear design for comfort and excellent noise cancellation
Cons
  • Not all fit
