Let me start by saying that I am a professional audio engineer and dB meters are essential. It has 2 things that make it different from everyone else. It accepts AAA batteries. 9V works for a lot of people, for me the only thing I had was my dB meter. Now that I have this, I can only narrow myself down to two types of batteries. It has a full measurement range of 30-130 dB. I don't have to limit myself to 20 dB steps like most others in this price range.
