I have limited expectations for the lighting. I want to be able to turn on the light and go to the same setting every time. However, this is not possible with this lamp. The light goes through 3 different settings each time it is turned on. 5000K bright light, 4000K medium light and 3000K medium light. If you want to use a specific color or brightness, you have to set it every time you turn on the light. This is of course frustrating because I never wanted a light that surprised me with either dim or bright light. I return this lamp and get another one that gives me the same light output. As a side note, LED halo is a bit distracting with low ceilings as it is very bright compared to the light reaching the surrounding space. And the app is almost certainly spyware as it has minimal functionality but requires access to your entire phone.
