Review on StarTech Com Rack Enclosure Server Cabinet by Montez Vazquez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Useful little rack for computer accessories and peripherals

I use this rack without wheels so I don't include them in the rating. It came in pieces, in a relatively flat box. Pretty quick and easy to set up. Using it without wheels is just as easy as not installing it, although there are still mounting plates on the bottom panel that slightly increase the thickness of the panel on which the wheels mount. I configured this as a "permanent" installation. for the emergency power and distribution system. It's just big enough for everything you need, and it's convenient to transport those things in a rack-mount model rather than just stacking them on top of each other. inches from the outer top to the top of the upper 1U and just over 2.5 cm from the outer bottom (excluding wheels) to the bottom of the lower 1U). Where I have it, using the top 1U is not possible. If it lost half an inch less at the top and bottom it would fit well enough to give me extra room to expand. I think they could do that, but that could mean a slightly more complex shape or a thicker top and bottom panel. I would like a half star for that, but Revain only allows full stars. The dimensions on the sides seem good; front to back as expected for the measurements. It's quite heavy when assembled, but not really heavier than expected. Fully loaded, the handles seem like a more convenient way to haul it (assuming you use wheels) than a safer way to lift it (the power system I loaded inside is approaching the manufacturer's advertised weight limit for a rack) . I can't imagine setting up my rig without at least four people; Two pens don't help. Since my setup isn't meant to be moved, it doesn't matter. With recessed grips, at least they don't stick out and interfere with other things. Overall I would rate this a 9 out of 10.
