This is useful for detecting cold air leaks around doors and windows.

It works but not quite accurate. For example, the register of boiling water is about 186-190. It's good for detecting cold air leaks from doors and windows, and after about 10 tries it actually gave me my exact temperature. A cat likes to chase a laser beam, but a cheap laser pointer is better suited for this.
