Fixed security light not starting issue

Pontiac Grand Am ignition lock cylinder is known to have failed. This is the second time I've replaced it after about 100,000 miles on my 2002 Grand Am SE1. It happens like this: your car suddenly won't start. It will still roll, but to no avail. The electronics still work. Problems with the fuel pump can be ruled out by tapping the bottom of the fuel tank with a rubber mallet. If it still won't start, it's probably the ignition switch. You may also notice a security indicator on the dashboard. I usually do projects like this myself, but I didn't have time. I installed it at the dealer this time, so I can't comment on the installation, although I understand it's not that hard. This is a complete ignition lock cylinder including two matching keys. The buttons are blank where the Pontiac/Chevy/Oldsmobile logo would normally be. never mind Note that unless you reconfigure this ignition cylinder's key (which I wouldn't do unless you're an expert) or reconfigure the door and trunk locks (same thing), you'll be carrying two separate keys need - an old key from the locks and trunk and a new key from the ignition switch. Again, nothing against an old car. Otherwise I had no problems after the installation. No security indicators, no startup problems, no password problems. It just works, and that's exactly what the ignition lock cylinder is supposed to do. One final note, in case you don't know, ACDelco is owned by GM and makes factory parts for their cars, so you can rest assured that all of it is right. Especially when they are affordable like they are now, I always prefer a genuine ACDelco part to something second hand.
