Review on πŸ”Š Taramp's BASS 400: Powerful 400 Watts Class D Full Range Mono Amplifier at 2 Ohms by James Oconnor

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good but not feasible

Overall this amp is great. Pros: It's tiny It runs cool It barely puts out rated power Cons: The power and ground terminals are too small. For an amp that can draw up to 50 amps, the power connectors are too small to fit a standard 8 gauge plug, forcing you to look for special connectors/rings or cut what you have . The reinforcement was a little strange. . When I went to inspect the output I had no sound at all when it was all the way down and then the output cut off almost immediately as the signal came up. I had to be incredibly precise with my setup, which made me unsure of how well I could set the gain. The sound is simple. Failure several times. I feel like most other class D amps, Korean or not, sound richer and fuller. I've had this experience with a couple of cheap amps that don't seem to put out much power at all. Overall: Love this amp, at this price point, for a solid brand, it's hard to go wrong. Its size and performance are fantastic. All in all I would recommend it to a friend who doesn't mind the above issues but I don't know if I would buy another Taramps amp. All in all, it's definitely worth the 100 euros.
