Review on Electric Fuel ๐Ÿ”Œ Pump by Mr. Gasket 42S by Napoleon Robbie

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Wouldn't buy another

I converted a fuel injected BMW to a carburetor and used one of these pumps to replace the high pressure pump. It has been working perfectly for over a year and is installed exactly where the old pump was; simply connected to existing pump lines. I have a similar pump on my Citroรซn 2CV that has been there for over 10 years and the pump never fails. In either case, the key to good performance is to install the pump(s) as low as possible. In a car, the pump can "push" the fuel instead of trying to "pull" it. UPDATE: July 2008 I bought another of these pumps as a spare. The car had fuel delivery problems today (original Mr. Gasket pump that worked for a few years). I decided to install a replacement pump, Mr. Seal. Like other reviewers, my pump went off for about 10 minutes, after which it died. So I would change my star rating and lower it if I could figure out how to do it (I figured it out; removed the rating and reposted). In general, I would not buy a second such pump. I guess I just got lucky with the others.
