Love love this cupholder! I have returned at least 3 other types to another reputable shop (the sticky seal window I actually bought from Revain, another window suction vent holder style gooseneck) - hated them all for different reasons. It's hard to find a drink holder, and yes, You will lose the cup holder when you use it. BUT I just wanted to use Google Maps and when I use this app I still stick my phone in my cup holder and reach for the phone when I need to take a closer look at the map. What I like about this cup holder is its low profile. The lower part that fits in the cup holder is fully adjustable by rotating its part in the cup holder, so you can easily get the perfect fit. Just like the button that opens the part of the phone holder - it doesn't just open, it opens like electronically, very neatly. Every machine is different and the midsections are different, so I cannot guarantee this will work on all machines.
