This radio battery has no overcharge protection, so you cannot just leave it plugged in. The instructions on the radio require you to monitor the charge level indicator while it charges, which can take anywhere from 3 to 11 hours, and then turn it off until it needs to be charged again. This is why it is really important: If lithium batteries are overcharged, it will lead to internal damage and the risk of battery fire. Or a very short battery life (and this one is not removable). I received mine today and after reading these instructions I will be returning it.
