Review on πŸ”Œ Logitech Combo Touch Keyboard Case for iPad (7th, 8th, and 9th Gen) - Trackpad, Wireless Keyboard, Smart Connector - Graphite by Mike Wallace

Better (updated)

Update: I accidentally bought Combo Touch for iPad (7th gen) and not Combo Touch for iPad Air (3rd gen). Doh! I've removed the complaints about the camera and headphone jacks, but I'm left with the rest of this review (and the new kickstand section). I bought this keyboard for my new iPad Air because I wanted a touchscreen keyboard. Notepad and space for a Logitech Crayon pencil. After a few weeks of use, here are my observations: Like: Works very well as a keyboard. Keys are a bit cramped However, switching from the desktop to this device is automatic after a few transitions. The touchpad is sensitive and responsive to me as I gave up mice in favor of touchpads a long time ago. It requires additional pressure to close the switch to perform the cursor action, but you may feel a slight click as you do so. The keys and touchpad don't slow down, with one exception that I'll get to later. The feel is better than I expected, with the clarity of every key and touchpad click. The body is nice and feels solid, and the keyboard can be detached to use the iPad with just the built-in stand. The device management app has some user selectable features, but the operating system provides everything I need to set it up. The stand looks great on a table as well as on your lap. It offers a lot of customization options and stays where I put it. Good job Logitech. However: Every now and then, about every hour of operation, the keys or the touchpad no longer react. The issue appears to be inconsistent as the cursor can be moved across the touchpad once, but pressing it to perform the action does nothing, even when pressed hard enough to feel the switch close. I believe these are hacking issues that will hopefully be fixed in a software/firmware update. Or it could be because I had the wrong combo touch. By the way, I returned this device and for my iPad Air (3. generation) ordered. A review of this is expected. I returned this device and ordered it for my iPad Air (3rd generation). Pros
  • FOUR USE MODES. Four usage modes and an adjustable stand make iPad comfortable for everything from note-taking to watching videos and more.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
