Have a digital marine aquarium tester. open box. I checked the unit, it looks decent, even a spare battery pack is included in the kit. read the instructions for use. explains quite vaguely what to do if the device is not properly calibrated, but mentions that it comes from the factory. So good. put in water to test. The detected temperature takes at least a minute to set correctly. and the unit is read either as a percentage or as ppt/ppm. I'm used to the specific gravity. So the converter used to convert ppt/ppm to sg appears to be fairly accurate as the numbers are compared to those at the fish store I took water from to test. Cool, so I washed the touch sensor and left it for a while. I came back and noticed moisture on the screen. I found it easy to take it apart so I did that, dried the circuit board etc. put it back together, plugged it in and tested to see if it still works. To my dismay, all readings were off. So I thought maybe the batteries are bad. Insert "new" only to find the new ones were almost dead. Naturally. It was returned the next day. was a promise. but was not waterproof as he claims.
