Well, I have to admit that when I bought this moka pot I was a little wary of an aluminum moka pan. This gorgeous, beautiful finish and heavy. The top cover is also made of stainless steel, not flimsy metal, the hole is solid, the thread is even, not rough like some aluminum mokas. I used to preheat my old pot before putting it on the stove, but the instructions for this mocha pot say you have to use cold water, which I did and there was no time difference between the two to start brewing to start coffee. This moka is a little pricey but worth it. Goodbye aluminium, hello stainless steel.
