only. This is a great smart charger. I had concerns reading another reviewer's comment which he sent back because when he read the voltage with his digital VOM it was very different from what the charger reads. I'm not an electrical engineer, but I suspect this has to do with the "pulsing" nature that this charger has to use to charge and discharge. I measured the charge and discharge voltage with DVOM BK Precision 2709LE, DVOM Harbor Freight and an old analog VOM. If the charger reads about 3.65 volts on a 3.7 volt 18650 lithium battery when charging, all my meters would read MUCH higher than that (4.3 volts?!?) or MUCH lower than that when discharging (eg e.g. 1.4 volts). This tells me the charger is doing something REALLY tricky with surge current or something that the RMS meter can't read properly. Capacity. Well, when I finally ran the new high quality Panasonic 18650B batteries in the same test and they averaged 101.5% of their rated 3400mAh capacity, I knew that all the other clone brand batteries were just poor Chinese quality. . I now have 100% confidence in this charger and that it is reporting correct data. Others comment on the fan noise. When it's on, you can hear it. I wouldn't put it in my bedroom and sleep next to it, but it's not noisy at all. Also, it only turns on when it's needed for thermoregulation and barely works unless you're in the discharge portion of the test. Also, I've only used this charger with 500mAh charge and discharge rates as that's enough for all the batteries I have. Likewise. Someone mentioned that pressing the display button for a few seconds turns the backlight on all the time (or switches to "on demand" mode). It worked on mine too. Yet again. Great charger.
