Review on Pioneer TS WX1010A Enclosure Subwoofer Amplifier by Rob Bishop

I have decided to replace all speakers and add a powered subwoofer to my S60 '04 (HU 613) as the first step in a budget upgrade to my sound system. The second phase will include a new dual din head unit, 4-channel amplifier, high-end speakers, 12-inch sealed subwoofer and mono amplifier. This was a basic setup using a custom Volvo cable available on ebay. Build quality is good. for such a price. Alleged 1100 watts maximum / 300 nominal are absurd. I think 50W is more accurate. There's no chance a small amp is capable of numbers like that. I had hoped for 150 watts and was very disappointed with the result. at the exit it adds a little authority to the floors, but very little. I'm using a factory head unit and 8 inch rear coaxes. I suspect that any facts influence the conclusion. It's wired correctly, I plugged it into the passenger's 12v socket to power it on. If I knew what I know now, I would have skipped the powered subwoofer altogether and waited for my second round of mono amp and 12-inch subwoofer upgrades. Judging by the reviews, this works in most applications, but not for me.
