Review on 📀 Philips DVD711AT DVD Player: Enhance Home Entertainment with Advanced Features by James Yarbrough

Technology can be retrofitted

Now I don't need a very expensive DVD player. To be honest, I don't think the performance figures are worth the price hike. I have some pretty serious audiophile gear; However, I don't have an HDTV, so I can't comment on digital images. I've bought a lot of cheap DVDs in the past and to be honest linear branching seems to be the most problematic symptom of the problem for many players. Philips hasn't necessarily outshone the competition, but overall it's a much more solid performance. You get tiny pauses between linear branches (dip switches) that are barely noticeable, and compared to other DVD players that need a firmware update to fix the freeze, Philips is the champion. I had GE 1105P and 1106P and they were a nightmare. They skipped and blocked chapters so I was about to buy a very expensive device. I stumbled across 711 by accident and damn I'm glad I did. It's not like it's a pristine car, but many people don't realize it can be upgraded. Это означает, что если он не может запустить DVD (чего я не замечал, а играл во все создатели проблем) или такие технологии, как VCD, Philips может отправить вам диск по почте, чтобы вставить его в устройство, и оно будет прошить биос и To solve the Problem. This should be a standard feature on all DVD players. What I'm hoping for is an update that will allow this device to become MP3 compatible. I don't know if they will, but it's certainly possible, look at the "Feature Upgradeable" label on the box. Even the sellers don't know what that means. People complaining about the unit not being able to handle CD-R/W and VCD are most likely to have valid concerns, but the good news is this can be fixed without sending it to Philips or taking it back to the repair shop. . Ultimately, being able to download a patch from the internet, burn it onto a CD, and pop it into your DVD player is much more convenient than having to ship the unit somewhere. This is a brand new product and most new products have a few bugs but in this case they are user fixable which is a big plus. Philips doesn't have a website for this device yet, but I'll be thrilled when they do. The thought of upgrading to a new technology, format, or troubleshooting unplayable discs far outweighs minor performance issues. I'm basing my rating on DVD and CD performance. I don't care if it can play VCD or CD-R/W flawlessly as most DVD players in this price range can't play CD-R/W and VCD at all. Philips has provided us with a dual laser setup, so CD playback is as fast as a regular CD player. Considering you can get this device for less than $200, this is a steal. My opinion is as follows: In this price range, who buys a DVD player to play CD-R/W or VCD anyway? It's just an added bonus that it can play these formats just as well as it can. Both problems can be solved if people report it to Philips. Perhaps the person who claimed that Philips responded that these performance issues weren't issues didn't give Philips an opportunity to explain why they weren't issues. After checking out Thomson Electronics (GE, RCA) products, I can only say that Philips technical support seemed very honest to me. Thomson Electronics didn't even admit that its players had performance issues. Philips seemed to recognize the possibility of future problems. That's why this upgradeable DVD player is revolutionary. No problem, there is a problem if you can flash your own BIOS. Feel free to at least check. You can spend $500 if you want, but think about what you really need. If you already have a CD player, you won't have any problems. If so, call Philips to get the patch or download it yourself.
