My shoe size is 12 D. I can comfortably wear size 13 shoes, although they are a bit large. I bought these shoes in a size 12.5 because they felt light and comfortable and added cushioning to my feet. I wanted to wear them as a casual everyday shoe. I found them very light, thanks in part to the thin, breathable upper and insole material that also stretches. The sole is also made of a very light material. Shoes fit well. They're easy to slip on with a loop over the heel and a flexible, stretchy material... just like putting on a sock. The laces are not tied as high as in many shoes, giving the feet more freedom of movement at the ankles. As expected, the shoe has extra cushioning related to the construction of the sole, especially the heels. However, the shoe feels like the heel is significantly higher than the toe (heel drop). The observation of shoes seems to confirm this. I feel like I'm leaning forward a bit and my body is resting on my front foot and toes more than usual. It takes some getting used to. On the plus side, my calves move a little more in these shoes. The shoe has a thin, durable insole that also provides cushioning. The holes that the laces go through don't seem to have much reinforcement given the stress they put on when tying and wearing the shoes. Perhaps the "elasticity" of the upper and its durability compensate for this. I only wear sneakers for a few days. The time will show. Although I will continue to wear these shoes as an everyday shoe, I think they are better for running. "Hiking shoes" and "running shoes" are expressly mentioned in the shoe advertisement.
